Happy Halloween!!

Can anyone say PARTY!! Man I am partied out! We have had a lot of Halloween this week. We had a neighborhood party on Monday with some friends, then a YM/YW party on Tuesday. Friday I helped with some class parties at the school and then of course Halloween!! It was fun, but I must say exhausting! We also had my niece Alexis baptised so there was a lot of family in town. That is a lot of fun, but hard to keep up. We went to Sycamore Lane again this year and I think they really did it good this year. I felt like there were more houses dressed up and it was a lot of fun for us. After trick or treating we watched a scary movie in the garage with a projector. We had a lot of fun, now we just need sleep! Here are some pictures to share!!

We went to the corn maze with some friends. The kids loved it. They had animals, a ho-down, and of course the maze that we weren't the best at!

First party!!

My grandparents are here for a few weeks and grandma came to watch the kids carve pumpkins and keep Breezy from eating the seeds!!

Food from the 2nd party. Do you like the nails?

YM/YW with the kaoroke (Kaly joined in), it was supposed to be Monstor Mash, yea right Taylor Swift won the vote!

The school had a costume parade. This is Kaden in the parade.

Kaly and Mady in the parade.

Piano Recital

Alright for some reason I get too behind!! We are playing a little bit of catch up AGAIN!! The girls had a piano recital a couple of weeks ago. They did a great job.....but we also had a sad day that day. We found out right before that our little bunny Hopper died. We decided to tell the kids after the recital and it is a good thing we did. There were a lot of tears and drama. We are not sure what happened, but everyone is fine now. Here is the recital pictures and of course the funeral!

Madelyn's song is "Funny Bunny"

Kalyann's song is "The Night and the Lady"

It was dark when we got back to tell them about hopper so of course we have a light and flashlights!!

Braces

Well for those that didn't know it....I didn't even know it....I got braces today. I was planning on the bottom to straighten my crooked tooth, but Dr. Brad noticed a slight "imperfection" on my top two teeth and decided to do the top too. Not sure how to feel now!! A bunch of metal in my mouth. Madelyn said that I don't look like mom and adults are not supposed to get braces. She also said I look like a teenager now. Funny!! Well we have loved Dr. Brad and I wanted to show you Kalyann's before and after. It was a year ago or so. She will need them again. This was just a "pre" round before all her permanent teeth came in. HUGE difference for her. She only had them for a short time, maybe a year. I can't remember exactly. I couldn't believe how much it changed her face shape. Thanks Dr. Brad and the Simister team!! Thanks for me today too. I think!!??!!

Lake Fun

Well we had a great time last week at the lake with the Clayton's and Layne and Chantel. The kids knee boarded and played on the beach and swam. They are getting good at the knee board! Here are some pics from the day. Thanks for taking us Clayton family!!

(Bri wanted in sooo bad, she actually cried and cried when we took her out!)

(Diane took this picture and how perfect she captured the "faster" mode. Mady always wanted to go faster.)
(Kaly said "not as fast please!", she liked it though, just a little more careful!!)

Apple Cider moments!!

Alright, we heard that the dairy in Colorado City had apples for sale. 50lbs for $8.00. We went with some friends to the dairy for apples and an ice cream cone. I am going to bottle apple pie filling, but Jeremy wanted to do Apple Cider. What he forgot to mention was first thing this morning. Since I just did peaches, I wasn't really ready to break out the apples. Ready or not he
brought them up and pretty much did it himself. All I did was help him heat the juice and bottle it. He cut all the apples and used our juicer and even cleaned up! The juice is actually good. The only downfall is you don't get a whole lot of juice. We probably juiced 30lbs of apples and bottled 7 quarts. So it is to be used on really special occasions! I was thinking we may have to get more apples.

(gotta love the apron!)

Peaches anyone?

Well Lins had some local peaches on sale. My tree has a ton, but we didn't thin them right so they are too little. I think we thinned to late in the season. I figured I would give these a try. I have never canned peaches, but it wasn't too bad. We had some for dinner and they tasted pretty good. I am not sure why, but I always have that feeling of accomplishment when I can something. I guess because when you are done you get to take it to the storage room and place it on the shelf. You just feel a sense of relief and accomplishment. Well it was fun and didn't take me too long.

Sewing fun...

These are a few aprons that I just did for fun with a friend. Jeremy was telling me all of these good books he has been getting into. I said if I had time or made the time to read..I would rather sew. I am not sure if that is a good thing, but I would rather sit at my machine and accomplish something. Anyhow I wish I did more and I wish I knew more, but I have many times ahead to learn. Here are my last sewing projects..

Labor Day!!

Well we had a great Labor Day! We had a big party in Hurricane. It is the Peach Days celebration. They have a parade, rodeo, food and games at the park. It really is fun. We had Jeremy's brother visit, and his other brother lives here with his family as well as good friends. We went to the parade and got a lot of candy! The kids loved it. Then it was off to the park for the booths and food. There were tons of booths and PEOPLE! The girls were able to sing with thier little singing group. Mady was thrilled because only one other girl was there, so as the video will show she pretty much had a solo. Kaly did great too. She was missing her dancing partner though. She seemed a little bummed about that. Here is some footage:

Kalyann in her singing group...

(video isn't loading I will keep trying....)

Madelyn in her singing group....

Then today...Monday we went to the lake. I will post photos later. All the kids knee boarded and that was fun fun. Thanks to the Clayton's for taking us!! Jer & I and Alex also did the wake board. That was fun, but for some reason we are getting older and yes I put my back out some how. Not too excited for tomorrow. Hopefully I can walk better than today! I hate it when you have to admit that your body is aging and your mind telling you what you can or can't do isn't!

WE had a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Kaden!!

Well last week was Kaden's Birthday..the 31st. There was no school for the Kindergartner's so I thought I would do something fun for him. I took 6 of his buddies to Jumpin' Jacks and then to McDonald's. Much easier than a party I decided. Jumpin's Jacks was fun and since school is in we were the only ones there. That was fun. McDonald's, well that was the tricky one. 6 crazy 5 and 6 year olds and Briana. Let's say I am glad we have space in age. To help each one with chicken nuggets, sauce, drink, fries, ketchup, and their prize...whew, plus catch my coke in time with Bri about to pull it off on the floor. It was a little crazy. We made it though and I was proud. I had only 2 left to drop off and one little boy says to another little girl, "what is all over your arm, gross!", well she had thrown up! So we hurried and got her all taken care of. I felt so bad for her, I knew she was embarrassed. Then we had Jeremy's brother over and his family. We had fun. Kaden wanted a pinata so that is what we did. He loved it and the kids did to. We just love Kaden. He is so easy going and caring. I love that he loves his home and his sisters. He is always anxiously waiting for them to get home from school. They all get along so good and it is good that Kaden is willing to let them be in charge most of the time! I am sure that will change some time! We love you Kaden!

Back to School

Well I can't believe it is time. We start school soooo early here. It is crazy. The kids started last week. Kaden is in Kindergarten, Madelyn in 2nd grade and Kaly is in 5th grade. They were so excited.
Kaden was a little nervous. I was surprised because he actually knows quite a few in his class. A few friends and his cousin is in his class. The second day was a lot better though. I do need to chat with his teacher because he is supposed to get a stamp on his hand if he has a good day at school. Well Kaden has never liked stamps. So they were supposed to put his hand on his head if she told him he got a stamp and he wouldn't. He just tucked it in his arm pits. He didn't tell me this of course his little buddy Lindy did. So I think I need to pass it along that he hates stickers on his hand or stamps or marker or anything. We tried to tell him it will was off, but nope he won't have it.
(He had to show off his backpack. I tried to talk him out of it, he loved the fire!!)
Madelyn is the social butterfly and loves to get there and see her little friends. She loves her teacher and has a lot of her good friends in her class. If you know Madelyn you know she is the one with all the luck in our family and she has had her friends in her class for 3 years now!!
Kalyann has a great teacher and one of her greatest friends is in hers with her. I was proud because they asked her to go to a new class the day before school and she switched, of course her good friend got swiched too so walla!! Happy for all!! Plus the teacher is great. Another funny thing is that there were no more classrooms so she is in the 2nd grade wing right next to Madelyn. They said they could do code knocking through the wall. I thought it was fun for them. Jer and I went to back to school night and we were so excited to tell them they were so close. It is the portables so it is REALLY close.
And for me, well somehow I got roped into the PTVO and so I am the Room Mom Rep for the school. Am I crazy!!!? Well we know that I am and hopefully it will be ok. I think I just finished getting the last room mom and the year is off!!
Well hope everyone else has a great time getting ready for school. We are sure ready even though it is early!
